BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has asked the Congress leaders, who criticised his recent comments about Rahul Gandhi, whether they have guts to question Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who had repeatedly criticised the Gandhi family in the past and termed Sonia Gandhi a ‘Bali Devatha’ (goddess seeking sacrifice).

Speaking after welcoming Congress leaders from Serilingampally constituency led by G. Narender Yadav into BRS here on Thursday, he ridiculed the Congress MLAs and Ministers for conveniently forgetting Mr. Revanth Reddy’s derogatory remarks against Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in the past, but raising objections to a statement he merely repeated.

“Rahul Gandhi was called ‘Mudda Pappu’ by Mr. Revanth Reddy himself. I only repeated what your own Chief Minister said,” KTR said. He recalled that Mr. Revanth Reddy had gone to the extent of describing Sonia Gandhi as a ‘sacrificial goddess’ for driving more than a thousand people of Telangana, including students and youth by going back on the statehood decision.

Instead of reprimanding such a behaviour, the Congress leadership had elevated Mr. Revanth Reddy to the post of Chief Minister and now targetting the Opposition for referencing the same remarks, KTR said. “Why are you speaking against us while protecting the man who abused the Gandhi family? If you have any courage, question Revanth Reddy first”.

Taking a dig at Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, KTR said that the MLA betrayed the BRS and joined Mr. Revanth Reddy only to protect his land dealings. Despite this betrayal, every meeting held in Serilingampally was receiving massive support.
