Srikakulam MLA Gondu Shankar emphasised the need to document Andhra Pradesh’s new political history in detail, to enable future generations understand the political conditions that prevailed in the earlier decades.

He was speaking at a formal launch of the book, ‘Undercurrent: A Millennial’s Take on Andhra Politics,’ written by 28-year-old writer, Vineel Vishwambhara Dutt Syed at a function in Srikakulam on Friday.

Mr Gondu Shankar said: “Mr. Vineel has touched on all the key points such as the socioeconomic conditions of the people, voters’ mood in the 2024 elections and the advantages of political alliances along with other points.” Mr. N. Eswara Rao (BJP-Etcherla MLA) who also attended the event said that Mr. Vineel has written about AP politics in simplified manner making it easy for the average reader to understand the political equations in the State easily.

Jana Sena Party (JSP) Etcherla in-charge and Mr. Vineel’s brother S. Vishwaksen said: “Under-Current’ is the first English written political books published in recent years.” He hoped the book would serve as a ready reference for students of political science, public administration and other related disciplines.

JSP Srikakulam district president Pisini Chandra Mohan, congratulated Mr. Vineel for writing the book without any prejudice despite he hailed from a political family.

Party senior leaders Gedela Chaitnya and Pedada Rammohana Rao said that writing a book on politics at such a young age was no easy as it is a complicated subject and praised Mr. Vineel for taking up the challenging task.

The book is priced at ₹289 and is available on Amazon.
