The Mathematics question paper of the ongoing II PU preparatory examination was allegedly leaked, leaving the officers in shock.
The incident came to the notice of officers in the Department of School Education (Pre-University) around 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday (January 6, 2026). They learnt that the question paper which the students were answering was leaked ahead of the examination and was circulated among students.
Chandrappa S. Gunduplli, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education in Shivamogga, told The Hindu that he also learnt about the alleged leak of the question paper when he visited the colleges earlier in the day. “I am now meeting the Superintendent of Police of Shivamogga to file a complaint on the question paper leak,” he said.
The Department of School Education has planned two preparatory examinations for II PU students. The first preparatory began on January 2, 2026. Normally, the question papers for the preparatory examination are sent to the nodal centres well in advance.
