Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Friday (September 12, 2025) said the people of Tamil Nadu have lost faith in the DMK government, which has been “misleading” them with “false” promises.

In a statement, Mr. Vijay said the people of the State want an impartial administration that genuinely works for them. He said his State-wide tour would begin on September 13 near the M.G.R. Statue at Marakkadai in Tiruchi and continue [in phases] across all districts until December.

According to him, the conditions listed by the police for his party’s public meetings and programmes were “unprecedented.” He said no other political leader had faced such restrictions. Beyond politics, the State government and the police should ensure adequate security for both party workers and the public during political gatherings, he added.
