Assam Rifles to hold outreach drive for ex-servicemen in Kerala

Under the initiative of the Director General of Assam Rifles, a team from the Assam Rifles will conduct an outreach drive for redressal of grievances of Assam Rifles Ex Servicemen, Veer Naris, sick and bedridden ex-servicemen, widows, and dependents, at different stations in Kerala, from January 6 to 22.

The outreach programme will begin in Kozhikode on January 7 at 10 a.m. at the Sainik Welfare Hall. The team will subsequently visit Palakkad on January 9, Thrissur on January 11, Kottayam on January 13, Alappuzha on January 15, Adoor on January 16, Kollam on January 18, and Thiruvananthapuram on January 20.

The team, comprising five officers, three Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and two Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), will visit multiple stations in the State as part of the initiative, and will distribute assistive devices such as hearing aids, walking sticks and wheelchairs to needy ex-servicemen. 

Assam Rifles Director General Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera is scheduled to visit Adoor on January 16, where he will address the beneficiaries, a press release said.
