The Gujarat Government has sent a relief train carrying food, medicines, and essential supplies for the flood-affected Punjab. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off the train from Gandhinagar Railway Station on Thursday (September 11, 2025).

The 22-wagon train carried 400 metric tonnes of food supplies, including wheat flour, rice, onions, potatoes, edible oil, sugar, and milk powder. It also transported 10,000 tarpaulins, 10,000 mosquito nets, 10,000 bedsheets, and 70 metric tonnes of medicines.

The State Government has also extended ₹5 crore each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to Punjab and Chhattisgarh. Around 8,000 relief kits have been sent to Chhattisgarh.

State Spokesperson Minister Rushikesh Patel said the train carried a range of materials from food grains to clothing. He added that the Chief Minister will visit Banaskantha district along with Speaker Shankar Chaudhary and other Ministers to review the work of the district administration.
