According to Indian Oil, a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 1,691.50, up from Rs 1,580.50 previously.

New Delhi:

The New Year usually brings relief and good news, but January 1, 2026, delivered mixed outcomes for gas consumers. While commercial LPG cylinders used by hotels, restaurants and businesses have become more expensive, piped PNG gas supplied to homes in Delhi-NCR has become cheaper. Here are the changes in gas prices on the first day of the new year and how they will impact your pocket.

Commercial LPG cylinder price hiked by Rs 111

Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been significantly increased for the New Year. According to Indian Oil, a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 1,691.50, down from Rs 1,580.50 previously. This represents a direct increase of Rs 111.

Prices of commercial cylinders in different cities

  • Kolkata: Increased from Rs 1,684 to Rs 1,795
  • Mumbai: Up from Rs 1,531.50 to Rs 1,642.50
  • Chennai: Now Rs 1,849.50

As a result, costs for hotels, restaurants, catering, and small businesses are expected to rise, which may also affect food prices in the future.

Domestic gas cylinder prices remain stable

The relief for common households is that there has been no change in the price of a 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder.

  • Price in Delhi is Rs 853
  • Price in Mumbai is Rs 852.50
  • Price in Lucknow is Rs 890.50
  • Price in Patna is Rs 951

Prices in hilly and remote areas remain high as before, but there is no additional burden on domestic consumers at the start of the new year.

PNG gas becomes cheaper, relief for Delhi-NCR residents

Meanwhile, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has given consumers in Delhi-NCR a New Year’s gift. IGL has reduced the price of domestic PNG gas by Rs 0.70 per SCM (Standard Cubic Meter). The new rates are as follows:

  • Delhi: Rs 47.89 per SCM
  • Gurugram: Rs 46.70 per SCM
  • Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad: Rs 47.76 per SCM
