The Ernakulam Central police registered two cases over an alleged ruckus at a fried chicken outlet on Tuesday. The police booked the manager of the outlet for allegedly wielding a knife at a group of customers who were reportedly unhappy with the quantity of chicken in the dish that they ordered.

In another case, the group of customers, were booked on charge of manhandling the outlet manager.

The police booked four ‘identifiable persons’ for the alleged manhandling of Joshua Ansal, 30, of Mundamveli, the manager of the outlet on MG Road. Ansal was booked on a complaint by Muhammad Nasmal, 28, of Puthenchira in Thrissur. Ansal allegedly brandished a knife and threatened the younger brother of one Nasmal and his friends who were in the city to participate in the Central School Sports Meet.

Ansal was charged with wrongful restraint and criminal intimidation. The four youths were slapped with charges of house trespass, voluntarily causing hurt, obscene acts and songs in public places, and wrongful restraint.
