Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday alleged that even Union Ministers were spreading hatred against the State as they could not tolerate its growth, which has drawn the nation’s attention.

Inaugurating new projects and laying foundation for buildings in Tiruvannamalai district, Mr. Stalin said Union Ministers believed they could secure votes in northern States by targeting Tamil Nadu.

“But their designs failed. Their hate campaign prompted people to search social media to understand what is actually happening in Tamil Nadu. They are learning about our economic development, welfare schemes, and sense of individuality, and posting videos in support of Tamil Nadu. They are spreading the message that India’s southern region has achieved growth,” the Chief Minister said.

Mr. Stalin said that despite Tamil Nadu not receiving its due share under the GST and other Central assistance, the DMK government had worked for the welfare of every district and family.

‘Defeated the betrayers’

“There is not a family that has not benefitted from the schemes of the DMK government. The Union government is creating hurdles through the Governor. We have defeated the betrayers and those who chose to be slaves of the betrayers. This is the achievement of the Dravidian Model government,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the DMK government was enjoying goodwill even among those who had not voted for the party earlier. “But BJP supporters are unhappy with the Union government. Petrol blended with ethanol, severe pollution in Delhi, declining value of the currency, and the collapse of newly constructed buildings have angered the people.”

He further said the discontinuation of the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) scheme had severely affected areas such as Arani, which is known for its quality rice production.

He said the BJP government and its ally, the AIADMK, were unable to hide the achievements of the DMK government. “People are no longer ready to believe their lies. There will be a Dravidian Model government–2.”
