T.N. govt. promotes seven IAS officers of 1995 batch to Chief Secretary grade

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) promoted seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the 1995 batch to the Chief Secretary grade with effect from January 1, 2026.

M.A. Siddique, Managing Director, Chennai Metro Rail Limited; R. Jaya, Commissioner, Economics and Statistics; P. Senthilkumar, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare; Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, Chairperson, Tamil Nadu Industries Development Corporation (TIDCO); T. Udhayachandran, Secretary, Finance; Hitesh Kumar S. Makwana, Surveyor General of India at the office of Survey General of India, Dehradun, Uttarakhand; and B. Chandra Mohan, Secretary, School Education have been promoted to the Chief Secretary grade.

Additionally, the State government ordered for the promotion of six IAS officers of the 2002 batch to the Principal Secretary grade with effect from January 1, 2026.

According to a government order, Archana Patnaik, Chief Electoral Officer; Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan, Commissioner, Disaster Management; C. Samayamoorthy, Secretary, Human Resources Management; M.S. Shanmugam, Secretary – II to Chief Minister; Reeta Harish Thakkar, Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation; and Jayashree Muralidharan, Secretary, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment were promoted to the Principal Secretary grade.
