A first-of-its-kind advanced radiation therapy facility in India is now available at Manipal Hospital Yelahanka, Director-Surgical Oncology of Manipal Hospital Jagannath Dixit has said.
Addressing presspersons along with senior consultants Vikram Maiya, Harish P. and Rajesh in Hubballi on Monday, Dr. Jagannath Dixit said that Manipal Hospital Yelahanka is redefining cancer care through technology, expertise and integrated services under one roof.
At Manipal Hospital Yelahanka, robotic surgery, advanced minimally invasive techniques and specialised procedures such as HIPEC and PIPAC are being offered for complex cancers, he said.
Dr. Vikram Maiya said that radiation oncology has evolved from conventional treatments to highly precise, adaptive therapy in the recent years.
Dr. Harish added that modern cancer care goes beyond chemotherapy. He said that global standard therapies are being provided at the hospital with nearly 40% to 50% lower cost compared to Western countries.
Dr. Rajesh explained that several tumour symptoms can be detected at an early stage.
