In a series of accidents, a lorry driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol rammed more than six vehicles at different locations on Chandapura Road in Anekal taluk on Sunday afternoon, leaving two people seriously injured.

Police said the Uttar Pradesh-registered lorry was driven by Prem, 35, who was heading towards Chandapura from a warehouse in Attibele. The driver allegedly first rammed two vehicles in Anekal, seriously injuring two persons, before fleeing the spot.

He then went on to hit three more vehicles in the Surya City area and later rammed another vehicle in the Attibele police station limits, the police said.

The driver allegedly evaded the police and members of the public for nearly 10 km before being chased and intercepted. They later thrashed him and handed him over to the police. He sustained injuries in the incident and was currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Anekal police station. The police said the two injured are out of danger.
