Burglars decamped with 40 sovereigns of gold jewellery, silver objects and cash from the house of a government school teacher at Pachal village near Jolarpet town in Tirupattur. 

Police said that K. Subramani, 42, and his wife Sabeena Rani, 39, were residening in the village for the past few years. The couple were working as teachers in two separate schools near Jolarpet town.

Initial inquiry revealed that the couple went to their respective schools as part of their work. After their return from the school, the couple found the main door of the house was broken. They also noticed cupboards and almirah were broken. Valuables including cash, gold jewellery and silver objects were missing from them.

Based on an alert, Tirupattur SP V. Shyamala Devi and Jolarpet police inspected the spot. Forensic experts also inspected the house and fingerprints were taken. Police have taken the footage along the route where the house is located. Ms. Devi has formed four special teams to nab the culprits. A case has been registered and further probe is under way.
