A total of ₹2,123 crore has been released to 4,61,599 women beneficiaries in Mandya district under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme through 23 instalments since the launch of the programme.

Chikkalingaiah, chairman of the Mandya District-Level Authority for Implementation of Guarantee Schemes, said that payments had been credited up to August.

Presiding over a meeting of the district-level authority at the Zilla Panchayat on December 17, he said that ₹92.98 crore was disbursed in August alone. Amounts due from September onwards will be released soon through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and beneficiaries need not worry about delays, he added.

Mr. Chikkalingaiah clarified that Gruha Lakshmi assistance had not been credited to income tax and GST payers and urged officials to submit representations for the early release of pending payments.

He also pointed out that some beneficiaries had not received funds owing to non-completion of Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC, and asked officials to create awareness among the public to complete the formalities.

Under the Anna Bhagya scheme, Mandya district has 4,47,166 beneficiaries. From July 2023 to December 2024, ₹402.6 crore was paid to beneficiaries as rice had not been procured. From February 2025, rice distribution resumed through fair price shops. More than 8,000 income tax and GST payers in the district have been shifted from the Below Poverty Line to Above Poverty Line category, he said.

Prashanth Babu K.C., vice-chairman of the district-level authority, said that under the Shakti scheme, 18,03,04,248 women had availed free bus travel in the district between June 2023 and November 2025. This incurred an expenditure of ₹492.93 crore. He stressed the need to improve bus services on the Bengaluru–Mysuru route to ensure there are no inconveniences to genuine passengers, students, and college-goers.

As many as 4,98,144 beneficiaries have been covered in the district under the Gruha Jyothi scheme. From August 2023 to November 2025, a total of 549.17 million units of electricity were consumed, with ₹491.19 crore released as subsidy, he added.

Rajendra S.H., vice-chairman of the district-level authority, said that under the Yuva Nidhi scheme, 8,296 beneficiaries had registered in the district, with ₹19.29 crore released up to September 2025. Payments for October will be made soon. Training is also being provided to youth under the Yuva Nidhi Plus scheme.
