The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert in six Telangana districts for Wednesday (December 17, 2025).

According to IMDs latest bulletin, cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts.

Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see mainly clear sky. Mist or hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning or night hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 14°C respectively,” the bulletin said.

Meanwhile, according to Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), a total of eight districts in the State recorded temperature at 10°C or below between December 15 and 16 with Kohir in Sangareddy recording the lowest minimum temperature at 7.4°C.

This was followed by 7.9°C in Sirpur (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), 8.6°C in Moinabad (Rangareddy), 8.7°C in Bheempoor (Adilabad), 9.1°C in Akbarpet (Siddipet), 9.8°C in Nizampet (Medak) and Bantwaram (Vikarabad) and 10°C in Pembi (Niraml).

The remaining 25 districts recorded temperatures ranging between 10°C and 14°C. In Urban pockets, Uppal in Medchal Malkajgiri recorded a minimum temperature of 10.8°C followed by Maredpally in Hyderabad recording 12°C.
