More than 2.5 lakh workers engaged in various establishments across Andhra Pradesh have been registered under the Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employees (SPREE-2025) launched by Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to expand social security coverge.

“The SPREE aims at enrolling the eligible workers in various establishments. About 2.5 lakh workers from 2,000 establishments have registered under SPREE. They are now eligible for various social security benefits,” ESIC State Regional Director Malla Rama Rao told The Hindu on Thursday.

Establishments such as shops, theatres, restaurants, factories, educational institutions, hotels and other agencies employing ten or more workers can register online. There is no need of any old records for registration, he said.

“We request the managements and the workers to register through Shram Suvidha, ESIC or MCA portals, and the deadline is December 31,” Mr. Rama Rao said.

SPREE will offer economic and health protection under the ESIC. For more details, the managements and the workers may dial the phone number 0866-2453498.

“The ESIC is conducting awareness programmes in factories, manufacturing units and other establishments in the State,” the Regional Director said.
