Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) said the “awakening of Hindus in Tamil Nadu” would be sufficient to bring about a resolution to the Thirupparankundram issue, adding that the matter, which is currently sub-judice, did not require escalation at the national level as of now.

He made the observation while responding to a query from senior BJP leader H. Raja on the expectations among Hindus that the Sangh should take up the issue at the national level, during an interactive session held during the ‘100 Years of Sangh Journey’ programme in Tiruchi.

”If it needs escalation, it will be done. But I don’t think it needs so. The matter is now in sub-judice, let it resolve,” he said.

He added: “The awakening of Hindus in Tamil Nadu, I think, is enough to bring about the desired result. But if at all it is needed, Hindu organisations are working in Tamil Nadu also, they will let us know, and we will think about it. But at present, I think the issue can be resolved here on the basis of the strength of the Hindus.”

He added, “We will not need to escalate it. But one thing is pakka — that the issue must resolve favourably to Hindus. Whatever it takes for that, we will do.”
