Top political leaders, including the Chief Minister, two Ministers, and the Speaker, will cast their votes in Kannur as local bodies go to the polls on Thursday (December 11, 2025).

The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, accompanied by his family, will vote at Booth No. 1 of Cherikal Junior Basic L.P. Kattilpeedika in Pinarayi grama panchayat. Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally will cast his vote at Booth No. 1 of Cheruvichery Government L.P. School in the 9th ward of Panappuzha panchayat, while Minister A.K. Saseendran will vote at Chovva Dharmasamajam U.P. School. Speaker A.N. Shamseer will exercise his franchise at Punnol L.P. School in the 35th ward of Thalassery municipality.

Renowned writer T. Padmanabhan will vote at Ramatheru Voice School in the 7th division of the Kannur Corporation. Among MPs, K. Sudhakaran will vote at Alinkeel Anganwadi in the Alinkeel division; P. Santhosh Kumar at Melechoova Thunchathacharya Vidyalayam in the Kappicheri division of Kannur Corporation; and K. Sivadasan at Parakandam Madrasa in ward 15 of Muzhukkunnu panchayat.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president will cast his vote at Thanthode St. John Baptist English Medium School in ward 14 of Payyam panchayat. MLAs Sajeev Joseph will vote at Vayathur UP School in ward 14 of Ulikkal panchayat; K.V. Sumesh at Rajas Higher Secondary School in ward 19 of Chirakkal panchayat; M. Vijin at Edanad UP School in ward 2 of Kunhimangalam panchayat; T.I. Madhusudhanan at Mavicheri Anganwadi in ward 21 of Payyannur municipality; and K.P. Mohanan will exercise his franchise at Hayathul Islam Madrasa in ward 15 of Puthur.

Since Mattannur municipality is not going to the polls, former Minister K.K. Shailaja is not eligible to vote. Similarly, CPI(M) State Secretary and Taliparamba MLA M.V. Govindan will also not be able to vote, as there is no polling in Morazha, the second ward of Anthoor municipality, where the LDF candidate had been elected unopposed. As it is a municipality, there will be no polling for the block or the district panchayat.
