A four-year-old boy, who suffered severe burns after falling into a vessel of hot sambar in Mallapur village of Peddapalli district on Sunday, died while undergoing treatment at MGM hospital in Warangal on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mokshith, son of Madhukar, a cook at the Telangana Social Welfare Residential School/Junior College (Girls) in Mallapur. The incident occurred when Madhukar was preparing dinner in the kitchen on the premises of the residential educational institution.

The boy suddenly entered the kitchen and accidentally slipped into the dish containing hot sambar. Madhukar rushed to the rescue of his son and pulled him out of the vessel.

He rushed his son to the District Headquarters Hospital in Karimnagar and later shifted him to the MGM hospital in Warangal as his condition deteriorated. The boy succumbed to burns around 10 a.m. on Monday.
