The Lok Sabha, on the first day of the Winter Session on Monday (December 1, 2025), passed a Bill to replace an ordinance which implemented reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Manipur, amid disruptions and Opposition protests over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in nine States and three Union Territories.
The first day of the Winter Session, which will have 15 sittings, saw frequent disruptions as the Opposition insisted on a debate on the ongoing SIR exercise.
