Department of Business Administration, University of Mysore, to launch golden jubilee celebrations on November 29

The Department of Studies in Business Administration and B.N. Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS), University of Mysore, will formally launch its Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Alumni Talk Series on November 29 at Rani Bahadur Auditorium in Manasagangothri in the city.

A statement here read that the launch marks the beginning of a year-long celebration commemorating 50 years of dedicated service and excellence in management education by the Department of Studies in Business Administration in University of Mysore.

“The launch programme will open with a welcome address by S.J. Manjunath, senior professor, BIMS, reflecting on the institute’s humble beginnings, growth, and core values. This will be followed by the official launch address by the vice-chancellor, N.K. Lokanath, who will highlight the institute’s contribution to the University of Mysore and its role in shaping future-ready management professionals,” the statement said.

The event will also be graced by distinguished guests including the Registrar, Registrar (Evaluation), and Finance Officer of the University, who will share their perspectives on BIMS’ academic journey and its continued relevance in a dynamic business environment.

A key segment of the programme will be the presentation titled ‘The Journey of 50 Years’ by D. Anand, senior professor, BIMS. The presentation will trace the institute’s milestones, achievements, and the collective efforts of its faculty and staff over the decades. Adding contemporary industry insight, the keynote address will be delivered by eminent alumnus B.C. Sheshadri, senior vice-president and business head (R), Infosys, who will speak on leadership, transformation, and how his formative years at BIMS shaped his professional success. Following the keynote, select alumni will also share their reflections and experiences, offering personal insights on BIMS’ role in shaping their careers and reinforcing the enduring bond between the institution and its graduates, the statement further read.

The programme will be presided over by R. Mahesh, chairman, BIMS.
