The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an Integrated Data Management System (IDMS) that will be deployed for Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The initiative is aimed at strengthening Namma Metro’s operational and maintenance processes.

According to senior BMRCL officials, the system is being developed with technical support from the DMRC, which has been managing metro operations for more than two decades. “The DMRC brings deep operational insight and long-standing experience in maintaining a large urban rail network. Partnering with them allows us to tap into that expertise and build a system suited to Bengaluru’s requirements,” an official told The Hindu.

Following extensive discussions between the two organisations, it was agreed that the DMRC would customise an IDMS similar to the one used in Delhi, adapting it to the BMRCL’s operational scale and asset structure. The tender submission deadline has been fixed for November 28, and technical bids are scheduled to be opened on December 1. The proposed IDMS is expected to streamline key maintenance functions, including preventive and corrective maintenance, routine inspections, and day-to-day operational support.

“It will also provide an organised digital framework for tracking, analysing, and managing assets across the metro network,” a official explained.
