The draft version of the curriculum will be out in December, said School Education Minister Anbil Mahaesh Poyyamozhi at the Anna Centenary Library on Monday.

He was addressing mediapersons after chairing the first meeting on the curriculum revamp with the High-level Expert Committee and Curriculum Design Committee. “We will soon decide on the classes that will be going in the revamp for the draft in the subsequent meetings,” he said.

Stating that deliberations on the curriculum revision will go on till March 2026, the Minister said, “Following this, in the upcoming academic year for standards 1-3, it will implemented and then we will move on to class 4-10 and classes 11-12,” he said.

Pointing out that in the first meeting, the department briefed the members about the works and assessment models undertaken so far, he said they wanted to seamlessly integrate inclusivity and holistic education in the curriculum. “While ensuring we enhance the ongoing modules too,” he added.

Mr. Mahesh also noted that the committee discussed how to connect subjects together drawing the example connecting science and math with history. “We are also looking at how to bring moral education, life skills, physical education, rationalism and how to tackle misinformation. Apart from this we are also looking to strengthen teachers in terms of technology with proper modules to train them,” he said.
