Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level security review meeting in Jammu on Sunday (November 23, 2025), in the wake of locals from Kashmir allegedly being linked to an inter-State terror module and the blast near Red Fort.
Top officials of the Army, J&K Police, CRPF, intelligence agencies, and civil administration attended the meeting at the Jammu Convention Centre.
Officials said Mr. Sinha took stock of the ongoing security measures to identify terrorists and their supporters in J&K. The meeting also stressed on the importance intelligence gathering and swift actions on tip-offs in the Union Territory (UT).
At least eight locals, including three doctors from Kashmir, were arrested in connection with an inter-State terror module and the Red Fort blast, which left 15 civilians dead.
Kashmir has witnessed a spurt in local doctors allegedly joining terror ranks this year, a trend that security analysts consider worrying. One such doctor, Dr. Umar Nabi from Pulwama, is alleged to have driven an explosives-laden car to the Red Fort.
Officials said Mr. Sinha also assessed the new security measures undertaken by the security agencies in J&K following recent developments. The discussion also included fortifying security measures both in the hinterland and along the Line of Control (LoC).
Over 600 locals were detained and many houses of J&K residents living in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) were attached after the Red Fort blast in Kashmir. The crackdown of fertilizer sellers and car dealers has also been stepped up.
