Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas on Saturday alleged that YSRCP leaders were misleading the public on Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) issues, while ‘ignoring that the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government had not taken any concrete steps to stop the privatisation of the plant’.

Addressing the media here, he said that the Union government had announced ₹11,400- crore package with the initiative of the Chandrababu Naidu government.

He said that VSP had been in a financial crisis for multiple reasons, including the lack of its own mines. “The YSRCP is resorting to mudslinging as it was unable to digest the success of CII Summit held in Visakhapatnam recently,” the Minister said.

He exuded confidence that many IT companies would come up in North Andhra districts. Mr. Srinivas hoped that around 20 lakh jobs would be created if all investment proposals were implemented.
