Jubilee Hills bypoll winner Naveen Yadav met All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi at the latter’s residence on Sunday, and thanked him for his party’s support.

Mr. Yadav, who contested the byelection on a Congress ticket, enjoyed the support of the AIMIM, whose functionaries and legislators had embarked on a pitched campaign against Bharat Rashtra Samithi candidate Maganti Sunitha and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy.

The MLA-elect’s father Srisailam Yadav, had met Mr. Owaisi at the AIMIM party headquarters in Darussalaam on Saturday.
