Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to submit his resignation to the Governor on Monday (November 17) before the formation of the new government.

Mr. Kumar who is also the national president of JD(U), has called the meeting of its Legislative Party on Monday (November 17, 2025). Similarly all the alliance partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have called the meeting of their Legislative Party.

Following the meetings, NDA Legislative Party meeting would be held to choose the leader of NDA Legislative Party. Since morning newly elected MLAs are meeting Mr. Kumar at his official residence.

Even Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president Upendra Kushwaha and Senior BJP leader Nityanand Rai met Mr. Kumar.

Sources also said that discussion on the distribution of the ministerial berth also took place among the NDA partners.

BJP being the largest party will have more share in the Cabinet followed by JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and RLM.

The tenure of the current government will end on November 22, 2025 so everything would be completed before that including the oath taking ceremony in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to attend.
