Condemning the increasing incidents of atrocities against the Scheduled Caste, Adivasis, women, and minorities across the country, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has announced a nationwide protest on Tuesday (November 18, 2025).

As part of the call, the CPI Kalaburagi district unit will stage a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday (November 18, 2025), CPI district secretary Dr. Mahesh Kumar Rathod said.

Addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi on Friday (November 14), Dr. Rathod said, “The situation on the ground has been steadily worsening, with marginalised communities continuing to face violence and discrimination.”

Citing official crime statistics, he noted that the 2023 National Crime Records Bureau report registered nearly 57,000 cases of atrocities against the Scheduled Castes and around 2,835 cases of sexual harassment and assault on Scheduled Castes women. However, he alleged that many cases go unreported due to fear, social stigma and inadequate police response.

Dr. Rathod said, “the nationwide protest aims to draw attention to the growing insecurity among vulnerable communities. The CPI members have also sought stern action against officials who fail to act on such complaints.”
