The Union government has extended the last date to register for insurance for the samba, thaladi, and pisanam paddy crops to November 30, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare M.R.K. Panneerselvam said on Sunday (November 16, 2025).
The Union government’s decision followed a request made by the Tamil Nadu government in view of the representations received from farmers in this regard, the Minister said. Mr. Panneerselvam called upon farmers in Ariyalur, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Erode, Kallakurichi, Kancheepuram, Karur, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Salem, Sivaganga, Thanjavur, Theni, Tiruchi, Tirupattur, Tiruppur, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvarur, Vellore and Villupuram districts to register within November 30.
