Special Intensive Revision (SIR) special camps were conducted across all polling stations in Thoothukudi and Kanniyakumari districts on Saturday, drawing significant public response.
The initiative aimed to assist voters in verifying, updating and correcting their electoral details ahead of the upcoming revision schedule. Polling station officers, supported by staff from various departments and volunteers engaged in guiding voters in filling out the required forms and addressed queries related to the SIR application process, ensuring smooth experience.
In Thoothukudi district, the camps were organised at all 1,627 polling stations to serve the district’s 14,90,685 voters. It was reported that a total of 1,82,200 forms were received during the day-long drive.
In Kanniyakmari district special camps were held at all 1,702 polling stations, catering to 15,92,872 voters in the district. The camp conducted between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. witnessed continuous queues as residents arrived to submit forms and seek clarification on procedures.
Similar camps have also been planned for Sunday (November 16) across both districts for voters to update their electoral details.
