Hyderabad

Senior Congress leader Jetty Kusuma Kumar, who has been appointed as AICC Secretary to Odisha, said that he would concentrate on strengthening the organisation rather than contesting in direct elections.

Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, he said the Congress recognises those who were committed to the party and thanked all the senior leadership for supporting him in his elevation to the national level. He said the party high command has entrusted him with responsibilities in both Telangana and Odisha, including the GHMC affairs. He dismissed concerns about election malpractice, stating that “with the introduction of EVMs, there is no scope for rigging.”
