An elderly woman was brutally assaulted by her neighbour over a boundary dispute in Ulloor on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Usha, 62, a resident of Pulayanarkotta. She was allegedly attacked by her neighbour Sandeep following an argument over the construction of a boundary wall in front of her house. The accused allegedly claimed that the new wall had reduced the width of the pathway, which led to the violent confrontation.

Having sustained serious head injuries, Usha was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, where she remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a critical condition. The Medical College police have registered a case against Sandeep for alleged attempt to murder.
