The Heart and Brain Institute, Andhra Hospitals, 36th paediatric cardiac surgical camp, in collaboration with Healing Little Hearts, UK, concluded on Saturday (November 08, 2025). During the camp held from November 03 to 08, Dr. Bosco Moscoso, consultant paediatric cardiac surgeon from Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Hospital, Spain, performed nine free heart surgeries along with the Andhra Hospitals cardiac surgical team led by Dr. Nageswara Rao, according to a press note released by the hospital.
The visiting team also included Aida Felipe and Aitor Lopez, consultant paediatric intensivists, as well as Natalia Sorolla and Laura Bernat from Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Hospital. Together with the Andhra Hospitals team, they performed several heart surgeries, including repair of Coarctation of the Aorta (COA), Mitral Valve Repair and Replacement, Pseudoaneurysm Repair, DORV + TOF correction, and other intricate cardiac procedures.
Chief of Children’s Services and Director of Andhra Hospitals Dr. P.V. Rama Rao said that the hospital’s success rate stands at nearly 99%, attributing it to the collective effort of the paediatric cardiology team.
Dr. Rama Rao appreciated the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of the Andhra Hospitals team and the visiting medical professionals from Spain and the UK.
