The Seventh Revenue Sports and Cultural Meet began with great enthusiasm at the RDT Stadium in Anantapur on Friday.

The three-day event was inaugurated by Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) and Special Chief Secretary G. Jayalakshmi in the presence of District Collectors O. Anand (Anantapur) and A. Shyam Prasad (Sri Sathya Sai), along with other revenue officials.

Marking 150 years of Vande Mataram, the national song was rendered by guests and participants. The inauguration also featured a march-past by revenue officials representing all 26 districts.

Wishing success to the participating teams, Ms. Jayalakshmi urged that the same enthusiasm be reflected in their official duties. She noted that sports relieve stress and help employees serve the public more effectively.

Commending the efforts of the District Collector, Joint Collector, and revenue staff, Ms. Jayalakshmi said their teamwork had ensured the success of the meet. She called on participants to take part in the sports and cultural events in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

District Collector O. Anand, A.P. Revenue Services Association president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, and others also spoke on the occasion.
