Condemning the alleged gang rape of a college student in Coimbatore, which he described as “inhuman” and a “cruel offence,” Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, on Tuesday (November 4, 2025), said he had instructed the police to file the charge sheet within a month and to take steps to ensure that the arrested persons receive the highest punishment.

In a social media post, Mr. Stalin said no word would suffice to condemn the incident. “Those who were involved in the incident have been arrested at once. I have instructed the police to file the charge sheet in the case within a month and take steps to ensure they get the highest punishment.”

Mr. Stalin further said: “The consistent empowerment of women in all fronts would put a full stop to the chauvinistic mindsets of these animals. Only it would pave the way for us to become a progressive society”.
