Seventeen individuals, including a three-month-old girl, were killed in a tragic road accident on the Mirjaguda–Khanapur road near Chevella on Monday (November 3, 2025) morning.

The mishap occurred around 7.30 a.m. on the Vikarabad–Hyderabad stretch when a lorry reportedly rammed into an RTC bus while attempting to overtake a two-wheeler.

According to a senior officer from the Cyberabad police, sixteen bodies were shifted to the Area Hospital in Chevella soon after the crash, while another body was recovered around 9 a.m. “So far, seventeen fatalities have been confirmed,” the officer said.

Preliminary enquiry indicated that the speeding lorry (TG06T3879) went in the wrong route leading to a head-on collision with the RTC bus (TS 34 TA 6354).

The concerned lorry had two pending challans for no-entry violations amounting to ₹3,270. The vehicle is registered in the name of Udithya Anitha.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot to clear the debris and shift the injured to nearby hospitals. Traffic on the stretch was disrupted for over two hours following the accident. An investigation is underway to determine further details and possible negligence leading to the collision.
