Senior officials had monitored the cyclonic storm from control rooms set up in both Collectors’ offices. Officials told the media that there were no human casualties due to heavy rains in any part of Vizianagaram district.

However, roads got damaged very badly in Vizianagaram, Rajam, Bobbili, Saluru, and other places due to continuous waterlogging for the last four days. Crops were also inundated with significant and excessive rainfall in all 27 mandals of the district.

The district received 52.5 mm of rainfall between 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) and 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday (October 29). The district received 52.5 mm of rainfall as to 2.3 mm on the same day of last year, as per the data provided by the government.

Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy, Municipal Commissioner P. Nallanayya, and other officials visited various places in Vizianagaram and directed the staff concerned to clear garbage and ensure proper flow of rainwater in canals and drainages.

Special officer of Srikakulam district K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu and In-charge Collector Farman Ahmed Khan said that the situation was under control despite the heavy rains, particularly in the sea coast area stretching from Pydibhimavaram to Ichchapuram, the border town of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

The district received 1,890 mm of rainfall, and all 30 mandals registered excess rainfall with the impact of the “Montha” cyclone. The officials directed fishermen not to venture into the sea since the weather would be rough for the next few days.
