After Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut and other Opposition parties in Maharashtra decided to hold a grand rally on November 1, 2025, demanding the Election Commission of India (ECI) remove bogus voters from the electoral rolls, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) released a teaser for the rally titled “Satyacha Morcha (Rally of truth)”.

The slogan for the rally is “Sanvidhan Vachva, Lokshahi Jagva (Save Constitution, Grow Democracy)”. The rally will start from Fashion Street in Churchgate in Mumbai on November 1, 2025.

Large-scale anomalies in voters’ list, postpone Maharashtra local body elections, say Opposition parties

The teaser shows MNS chief Raj Thackeray warning that no election will be held in Maharashtra until the voters’ list is cleaned. He also appealed to citizens to stay alert.

Earlier, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), along with MNS, held a joint press conference, where MNS claimed that around 96 lakh bogus voters have been added to the voters’ list in the State. Sanjay Raut then said the Election Commission is not accepting that the voters’ lists are problematic, and now it is time to hit the streets.

The Opposition also held several meetings with Nationalist Congress President (SP) president Sharad Pawar regarding the rally. The MVA and the MNS met State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare and Chief Electoral Officer S. Chockalingam on October 14, 2025, urging them to look into the alleged discrepancies in the voters’ lists and to rectify the anomalies in the list ahead of the upcoming rural and urban body elections, which are to be completed by January 31, 2026.
