Rajinikanth, Dhanush, and Selvaperunthagai
Unknown persons on Monday (October 27, 2025) evening sent emails claiming that bombs had been placed at the residences of actors Rajinikanth and Dhanush, and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Sevalperunthagai in Chennai.
The emails were sent to the Tamil Nadu Director-General of Police’s (DGP) official email ID. They were later forwarded to the Greater Chennai City Police for further action.
On Monday evening, the Teynampet police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), went to Mr. Rajinikanth’s house in Poes Garden for a security check. However, the actor’s security personnel informed the police that no unidentified person had entered the house to place any explosive, and therefore, the threat must be a hoax.
The police team and the BDDS checked the residences of others named in the emails as well, and the threats were found to be a hoax.
