Satish Shah, the veteran actor known for his unforgettable roles in film and television, once delivered a dialogue that continues to resonate with audiences: “Zindagi ki khasiyat hai yeh kabhi jhukti nahi saanse ruk jati hai magar zindagi rukti nahi,” which translates into English as, “It is the speciality of life that it never bows down. Breath may stop, but life never stops.”

This iconic dialogue is from the 1994 movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, directed and written by Sooraj R Barjatya. For the unversed, the Main Ho Naa actor passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, due to kidney faliure. Director Ashoke Pandit has confirmed the news of his demise by sharing a video. 

While speaking to the news agency ANI, Ashoke Pandit said, “On the demise of veteran actor-comedian Satish Shah, Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit says,” Satish Shah’s health deteriorated in the afternoon, after which he was taken to Hinduja hospital. He was suffering from a kidney-related ailment.”

Ashoke Pandit further added, “His mortal remains are in Hinduja Hospital. His cremation will be held tomorrow. He was a great actor and person. I can’t believe he is not amongst us now. This is a huge loss for us.”

Satish Shah’s known roles

Satish Shah’s famous roles include Kal Ho Naa Ho, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Main Hoon Na and others. According to details available on IMDb, Satish Shah made his acting debut in the 1978 film Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan in Hindi. He also worked in Marathi cinema and debuted with the 1987 film Gammat Jammat.
