Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh expressed deep shock and outrage over an alleged attempted sexual assault on a girl student of Tuni Rural Gurukulam School in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, by a man identified as Tatika Narayana Rao.

According to reports, the accused attempted to assault the student, and upon learning of the incident, the police swiftly registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested him.

Minister Lokesh, in a statement here on Wednesday, said the government would deal with such heinous acts with an iron hand, warning that anyone involved in such crimes would face strict punishment without leniency.

He assured that the victim is being provided counseling and all necessary support to help her recover from the trauma. He further stated that he had instructed officials to ensure robust security measures for girl students studying in Gurukulam institutions and welfare hostels across the state to prevent such incidents in the future.
