The Thiruvananthapuram City police have nabbed a truck driver from Tamil Nadu in connection with the sexual assault of an information technology professional at a women’s hostel at Kazhakuttom recently.
The incident occurred on Thursday night after the woman returned from work. The survivor was alone in her hostel room when she came under attack. The accused is suspected to have forcibly entered the woman’s room.
The Kazhakuttam police, which registered a case based on her complaint, had constituted a special investigation team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police. The team managed to track the accused using CCTV footage and reportedly captured him from Madurai.
With an identification parade pending, the police are yet to disclose the name or other details of the accused.
