The State government released ₹277 crore to gram panchayats on the eve of Sankranti.
The release follows a meeting of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka with Finance department officials on Tuesday. The Deputy Chief Minister directed the development officials to release funds for meeting the expenses of the newly elected rural local bodies and funds were released accordingly.
Conveying the sweet news to villages, Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka conveyed his festival greetings to the newly elected sarpanches and ward members.
